A suspension segment is the time a license is first suspended to the time a license is restored.

seg·ment
noun
ˈsegmənt/
  1. 1.
each of the parts into which something is or may be divided.

The reason this term use frequently by PennDOT is important has to do with limited license eligibility. There are a number of violations that, if recorded on your record during a current suspension segment, will disqualify you from a limited work license.

Automobile Driver Segment

For example a conviction for reckless driving is a major violation and results in six months of license suspension. If there is a reckless driving on your driving record that started the suspension snowball then you are automatically disqualified for a work license. Even if the six months of suspension was served years prior, if you have never had your license restored since this conviction is part of your current suspension segment and counts toward limited license eligibility.

I have successfully fixed this problem many times in the past and there are a number of ways to fix the problem to either have your full license restored or get you qualified for a limited license and you should get in touch with me right away.
